MODIY was born from Zagenzagen.nl, the platform that has processed more than 10,000 custom orders since 2018. Our production takes place at three specialised partners in the Netherlands. Thanks to long-term collaborations and extensive software integration, we work as one system – ensuring reliability, consistent quality, and short lead times.
Behind MODIY are Mark Smits, software developer, and Robin van der Werff, industrial designer with a sharp eye for form and function. Together, they developed the Zagenzagen platform, which not only automated the custom production process for professionals but also made professional machinery – from sawing and CNC machining to edge banding – accessible to a wider audience. This experience and technical infrastructure form the foundation of MODIY, making high-quality custom furniture affordable and available to consumers.
